Welcome to SAFECON 2025 at KOSH!
Whether you are here as a friend, family member, school supporter, or member of the general public, we thank you for your interest in NIFA.
We’d like your time with us to be as enjoyable, but most importantly, as safe as possible. Below are a few guidelines and reminders, in case you are unfamiliar with SAFECON and/or general airport operations.
Visitor Check-In & Escort
- Badges
- Obtain a visitor badge through your school advisor. If you are not visiting as a guest of a specific school, you may obtain a visitor badge from the chief judge office. Please display your badge at all times on airport property.
- A QR code is provided on the back of your badge with links to additional information about SAFECON, including event rules and schedule of events.
- Parking
- Parking is allowed in the parking lots and grass areas surrounding the hangar. Please do not block any driveways, hangars, or garages.
- Unauthorized access to the airport operations area or any attempt to circumvent airport security measures is illegal and will result in expulsion from the event and possible law enforcement action.
Ramp Safety
- All visitors must be escorted by a registered participant to access the ramp
- Visitors and escorts must remain clear of all airport movement areas
- Closed toed shoes and sun protection are recommended
- Limit distractions, especially around moving aircraft and the start/shutdown boxes
Watching Competition Events
- Flying events may be observed from the main ramp or from any public area surrounding the airport. While it may look like there are additional areas, closer to the runway, keep in mind this is an active airport and access to taxiways and grassy areas is strictly prohibited. Permission to access these areas is through coordination with air traffic control and not allowed by visitors.
- Only NIFA judges and sponsors will be allowed access to the runway during landing events. NIFA rules prohibit parents or anyone associated with a competing school from serving as a judge.
- NIFA rules prohibit contestants from using electronic devices for communication during any event. Please do not attempt to communicate with a contestant during their event.
Social & Meal Events
- Meals during the week are provided by our sponsors for registered participants (coaches/advisors/competitors/judges) only.
- Tickets for the awards banquet can be purchased on the visitor section of the SAFECON 2025 website.
