National SAFECON can be a complex operation for both freshman and veteran teams alike. The following list serves as a reminder on tasks that need to be completed prior to, during, and after the SAFECON.

Prior to SAFECON
- [ ] Pay NIFA Yearly Membership Fees HERE (due 9/1/2024)
- [ ] Register all contestants, coaches, and advisors for SAFECON 2025 HERE (link not active)
- [ ] Encourage students to apply for the Gary Hemphill “Spirit of NIFA” Award (due 4/12/25)
- [ ] Check the SAFECON 2025 site for updates on event information to include:
- [ ] Events to be competed
- [ ] Entry limitations
- [ ] Event specifics (e.g. Preflight Aircraft, CRM/LOFT, Ground Trainer, & IFR Sim devices, etc.)
- [ ] Thoroughly review the Arrival Briefing with your team
- [ ] Register your Navigation Aircraft HERE (due 4/25/25)
- [ ] Familiarize yourself with the planned Schedule of Events
- [ ] Set up Telegram to receive timely Chief Judge updates, including schedule changes
- [ ] Comply with any requests communicated from this year’s Chief Judge
- [ ] If your team plans on having visitors throughout the week of SAFECON or for the Awards Banquet, please have them review the following pages:

During SAFECON
Arrival & Practice Days
Upon Arrival at the host airport, carefully follow instructions outlined in the Arrival Briefing to include: Parking locations, ATC procedures, and practice limitations

- [ ] Schedule Safety Briefing (must be completed prior to further flying at the host airport)
- [ ] Schedule practice slots using procedures specified on this site
SAFECON Week
